“What does it mean to be part of a Jewish community?”  This is the question which will frame the curriculum for fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grade.  During the course of their four years focusing on this topic, students will engage with a wide variety of topics, all of which will help them explore and define their answer to this question.  In seventh grade, students spend the entire year focused on being an upstander, learning from leaders in the field and participating in meaningful, hands-on activities, all while framing discussion by our Jewish mandate to support those who are in need.

Their curriculum will focus on the following areas:

  • Hunger
  • Tzedakah and Maimonides
  • Segregation in America and Israel
  • Holocaust and Righteous Gentiles
  • Organizations led by students
